Fake Currency

Gopi brings a couple to the chowki and tells Chandramukhi that they have been caught using fake notes. On being asked as to where they got the notes from, the man says that he got it from his in-laws' place who invited them for the marriage of a cousin. Is this a racket of fake currency?
